I felt supported by management and there were plenty of opportunities to advance up in the location that I was working at. Overall I had a good experience!!
Safety Instructor
Getting in the water at the beginning of the day is the hardest becuase it's another 4-6 hours of sitting in a heavily chlorinated pool which you quickly begin to realize has a toll on your entire body. Teaching the little ones was definitely the best part and always kept spirits high. Management on the other hand were very nice but in a passive aggressive way, I even heard that one of them would take their restroom break IN the pool... Culture is pretty quaint, most of the people were there for the same reason I was: a small part-time job to have during school.
Pros
Learning how to teach swimming
You have to be a certain kind of person to work here
You have to love kids! The only room for growth at this job is from the two positions there are, front desk and swim instructor. Pay varies by location but if you're younger they will definitely pay you less (usually happens anywhere when you're a fresh face), owner is kind but everyone is afraid of her which makes YOU afraid of her. Seeing kids progress over time and building relationships with them is awesome if you're into that, but also be ready to be kicked punched jumped on thrown up on and... just be ready for anything a kid can do because Ive pried screaming children from their parents there so just be ready! At the time i worked here management was poor and not a good team but that always changes over time since I did see a lot of change in management over the course of 3 years. If you become a swim instructor be ready to smell like chlorine for days after your shift, its hard to make it go away! Also protect your hair!!! The water WILL kill it!
Pros
Making kids happy, seeing babies
Cons
Low pay for the amount of work you do
Ugh
Working as a swim instructor is exhausting, but what's worse is the lack of understanding about instructors' health and happiness. They talk a lot about being a family, and then use it to manipulate you into taking shifts you otherwise wouldn't be able to.
Good place to work
A great environment for people with little swim experience Very flexible with school schedules and outside responsibilities A competitive environment with opportunity's to move up if you want them.

Wet days with lots of kids
Often stayed after shift to complete progress forms for children. Working in the water for 4-5 hours was hard on skin and hair. Always wet and cold. Maintained positive and encouraging attitude for children and parents. Sometimes disciplining children for inappropriate or dangerous behavior around the water or during lessons.
Pros
positive atmosphere, see children's progress
Cons
demanding parents, uncooperative children, always wet
I loved working for Aqua-tots
A typical day I had 4 children in the water every 30 min, we would work the basics if they were new and continue the skills if they were advanced. Aqua-tots taught me to have a ton of patience, I loved working here.
Happy Swimming instructor
I taught a swimming class that had children of ages 6 to 8 years of age with about 6 children. My class had at least 3 kids because it was a try out. I enjoyed my time there because I loved to work with the kids and I loved to swim. You have to be extremely patient.
Pros
Beautiful environment
Its Nice
flexible work hours and 40+ hours training, not the best communication, nice staff, clean facility, people come and go, be open to making friends because you work closely
Pros
employee discount 30%
Review on Aqua Tots Swim schools
Working at Aqua Tots was very nice environment to be around especially if you love children. The way in which they train and move people up in positions is nice and is very rewarding. The hardest part of the job was probably tension with the different sides of the store, front desk and the trainers in the water. The most enjoyable part of the job were the kids! and being able to help them grow into confident safe swimmers.
It was a very fun job and the people were amazing.
Aqua-Tots was my first real job and I loved it. I was really sad when I had to leave because you build great relationships with your co-workers, children, and parents. It was a very fast-paced job and would not give you time to rest or breathe but the shifts were short averaging about four hours. I really miss working at Aqua-Tots because of the people and the environment.
Productive abd fun
Awesome place to work. awesome management and environment! low benefits, but great opportunities in communication. flexible scheduling! great fir college students
Productive and fun enviornment
This is a great environment to work in if you love kids, however it involves no benefits and requires you to go the extra mile unlike most part time jobs.
Nice place to work at SHORT TERM
Although the job can be a very nice environment, I would say that it isn't something to do if you're looking for hours. It is impossible to work that long in the water without physical conditions.
Pros
short shifts and consistant schedule
Cons
effects of water on skin and hair
The most enjoyable part of the job
As the receptionist, many task are given to me. Its my job to assure that all task are completed in a timely manner. The most enjoyable part about it is that it prepares me for the world outside of work. Everything has to be solved and done in a timely manner or things will pile up. I love how so much is included as being the receptionist. Greeting customers, answering telephones and maintaining a positive environment put me in a wonderful place mentally.
Pros
Making so many people happy
Positive Environment
Answer the phones, assist customers with their needs via phone or face-to-face. I learned to multi-task and problem-solve in a timely manner . Management was not declared until 4 months after the store opened. Co-Workers were fun, positive, and supportive. The hardest part of the job was to be able to satisfy the customers when they asked for something outside of the company's policies. The most enjoyable part of the job was interacting with customers and my co-workers.
Enjoyable Job.
This job is an enjoyable and fun place to be at. The advancement for this job is not as I would have hoped and am not making what I was hoping for upon getting hired. Besides that it has been a great opportunity and have learned and enjoyed working with my fellow co-workers as well as communicating with our clients.
